Guttering, Fascias & Soffits Eastbourne

A gutter that runs over the front every time it rains hard. A joint that drips at one end, a run that has sagged, or a damp patch spreading on your bedroom wall that somebody has already told you is a damp problem.

Your free roof check tells you which of those you have got and whether you want a repair or a new run. It costs you nothing and you are under no obligation. Ring 01323 33 55 33.

What the wall is telling you

We Sort The Gutter Before You Pay A Plasterer

A gutter running over onto your rendered front keeps that wall wet all winter, and nobody ever looks up at it. What you notice is a mark spreading on an upstairs wall inside, and it gets treated as a damp problem when what you have actually got is a roofline one.

Sorting that is what we do. We come out and look at the run itself, reset it to a proper fall, renew your brackets and fixings into sound timber, and deal with the board behind it before anything new goes back on - so the wall inside dries out and stays dry. Caught early it is a small job for you; leave it two winters and you are paying for boards, rafter feet and the plaster as well.

Your free roof check tells you which of those two you are looking at, and it costs you nothing to find out. Ring 01323 33 55 33 and we will come and look.

What you get from us

What You Get For Your Money

You spend your money on the cause

That damp patch on your bedroom wall is far more often your gutter than your wall. We look up before you pay anybody to re-plaster inside, because doing that while the run above is still going over is your money on the wrong thing.

You get a run that actually drains

We reset your gutter to a consistent fall and bracket it at the right spacing. On your weather side the brackets and screws usually go before the plastic does, so we refix into sound timber rather than hang a new run on old holes.

You do not pay for it twice

We check your timber before anything new goes on it. New guttering screwed to a fascia that has been wet for two winters pulls away inside a year, and then you are paying us twice for one job.

Roofline Work We Take On

Guttering, fascias, soffits and downpipes across Eastbourne. We repair yours where we can and replace it where you need it:

  • Realignment - we reset a run that has dropped, so your water reaches the outlet instead of going over your front wall.
  • Repairs - leaking joints, split runs and sagging sections put right, without you paying for a whole new roofline.
  • Full replacement - your whole run renewed in uPVC, in black, white, grey or brown, or a cast-iron-effect section if the front of your house warrants it.
  • Fascias and soffits - soft timber cut out and replaced, or clad in uPVC where your board is sound and dry.
  • Downpipes and outlets - renewed or re-routed, and the downpipe that empties against your wall taken properly into the gully.
  • Brackets and fixings - corroded brackets and screws renewed into sound timber, which is most of why your run has moved at all.

Staining down the render below your gutter line, or a dark streak under one joint? It has been going over a while, and the board behind it is usually going with it. Ring 01323 33 55 33 and book a free roof check - it costs you nothing to find out how far it has gone.

Common questions

Roofline Questions We Get Asked In Eastbourne

Because on a rendered elevation it is nearly always the gutter. Water going over the back keeps the render soaked, and the mark appears inside long before anybody looks up.

Usually the fall. A bracket has let go and put a dip in the run, so water sits there and goes over the front instead of reaching the outlet. It can also be an opened joint, or an outlet that has dropped away from the downpipe. All repairs, and none of them a new run.

If the board is sound, no. If it has had two winters of overflow down it, yes, because new guttering screwed to soft timber pulls away inside a year. The old run comes off first and the board is checked before anything goes back on.

Only if what is behind it is dry and solid. Capping is a real option on sound timber and a waste of money on wet timber, because the rot does not stop when you cover it up, it just stops being visible. You will be told which of the two you are looking at.

On the terraces and semis, nearly always. A white or black uPVC run on a rendered or brick elevation sits well, needs no painting and outlasts the timber it replaced. Where the front had cast iron and the look matters, a cast-iron-effect section keeps the profile without the weight or the rust.

The soffit sits under the fascia, so on most roofs the gutter and fascia come off to reach it. If those boards are sound, it is a small job and the old run goes back on afterwards. If everything along that edge is soft, the whole roofline is done in one go, which costs less than three visits.
